Welcome

Hello and welcome to my page!

I was born here in Pittsburgh heavily influenced by the arts. Growing up as a competitive dancer, I learned the importance of expression and creativity. As the years passed, I developed a second passion -  fine arts, where I practiced drawing and painting.  I decided to pursue the arts in college, where I received duel degrees in Arts and Advertising from Pennsylvania State University. Initially, I went into college wanting to be an artist, but as I progressed further into my college years, I became open to many other paths and careers such as graphic design, advertising, textile design, fashion design, and illustration. Being open to different art forms has given me a broad perspective on the arts, allowing me to mix different art forms together and help guide others interested in the field. Post graduation, I worked in NYC in textile/graphic design in the fashion world for icons Donna Karan and Norma Kamali, where my responsibilities included pattern and textile design. My designs were seen on the runway and in major department stores. After my experience in the fashion world, I returned to Pittsburgh, where I received my Masters Degree in Art Education from Carlow University.

Now I am a full-time Art teacher AND Artist. I feel very grateful and humbled to have a talent that is not only personally expressive but allows me to share, influence, and make a difference to young aspiring students. It's mutually fulfilling.
